A Bucket List
As I turn 25 this year, I look ahead to see what I want to accomplish before I turn 30.
When I first started writing this blog, I cringed at the thought of me turning 25. I know some of you are now rolling your eyes and thinking, “But Cheyenne, you’re such a baby!” and while you are right, getting older is still a feeling of weirdness for a lot of people.
I feel like 25 is such a number. 5 years ago I wasn’t allowed to legally drink, and 5 years from now I will be 30.
I look back at all the amazing things I have accomplished the past 5 years. I bought my first house at 20, got married at 21, published 5 books, started going back to therapy to become the best version of me, re-enrolled in college (twice), and now I’m growing a baby girl in my body at this very moment.
However, many not-so great things that have happened in the past 5 years. I lost close friendships. I quit jobs and struggled to find a passion for working. I had a miscarriage. COVID. Family members passed away. I struggled with finding myself.
But while I think about the past, I am excited for the future. I made a list of 30 things I want to accomplish or do before I turn 30. Some things I already accomplished. Some things are big, while some are simple. Some make me want to throw up even thinking about getting out of my comfort zone.
In no particular order:
- Finish my associates degree
- Bake a French silk pie
- Publish at least 5 more books (if not more!)
- Buy a house (check)
- Make some sort of income with this blog
- Renew my wedding vows for my husband & I’s 5th year anniversary
- Sew a piece of clothing that I am very proud of
- Actually train and run a 5k (I’ve always wanted to but have never gone for it!)
- Invest in a fancy purse (I always hear Chanel bags calling my name!)
- Pay off all credit card/student loan debt
- Get my nose pierced
- Travel to another country (Europe, Mexico, or Jamaica!)
- Read my poetry aloud at a Spoken Word Event
- Finally feel comfortable saying “no”
- Start consistently putting money away for my retirement
- See a Broadway Play
- Continue my therapy journey
- Become a mom! Maybe x2?
- Stop worrying about what others think about me
- Get a Twilight tattoo
- Have a consistent workout routine that I love
- Start working on my bachelors degree
- Do a Book Signing Event
- Make consistent income (at any level – just consistent!) with my books
- Have many nights filled with laughs with my closest friends
- Visit Niagara Falls
- Ride a Mechanical Bull (and probably fall off within 10 seconds)
- Embark on a solo trip
- Do what I want because this is my life and I deserve to be happy!
- Create a blog & launch it!
Will I get through every single thing on this list? Probably not, but it’s still fun to think and dream about.
I look forward to the next 5 years of my life… whatever they bring!
Now I want YOU to make your own list! It doesn’t have to be 30 by 30, but make a small bucket list of your own. Dream BIG. Write down the things that scare you. Think about what you want in your life and how you can make it come true. Comment below a few of your items!
Until next time my loves!
Cheyenne
